She broke this shocking piece of news to the public in a tell-all interview over TV Patrol on Thursday, March 21.
“I'm giving up my shows.
Kris added that her decision arose from an equally shocking encounter with her former husband James Yap, whom she alleged forced himself on her in front of their son Bimby on Dec 3, 2012.
She recounted how James entered her room that night, tried to kiss her and get hold of her arm. When she ordered him to get out, Kris said James didn’t obey her and stayed put.
This, she insisted, is a violation of her rights as a woman since she and Jamees are no longer married.
Kris also accused James trying to hurt her and saying hurtful words against her in front of their five-year-old son, Bimby.
Inuulit ko, I kept quiet,” she goes on.
Kris admitted that she sent James an SMS to say that he can see Bimby as long as it’s not in her house.
Then, on Feb. 1, Kris said Bimby went to see James who promised to give the boy a toy, which turned out non-existent.
Father and son met again on March 8. Kris recalls seeing her son crying and shaking. She said that Bimby’s words were, “'Mama, papa's saying that he never hurt you. But he's a liar because I saw everything. I was there Mama, I saw it.”
Now, Kris wants to lie low and spare Bimby the pain a much-talked-about controversy will surely bring him.
“My sisters don't know that this is what I'm going to say, my lawyer doesn't know that this is what I'm going to say. I asked myself on my way here, ilang beses ko nakausap si Bimb, ilang beses ko tinanong. Alam kong malalaman niya itong pagsasalita kong ito, tinanong ko siya 'Bimb is it okay if Mama will talk?' And it broke my heart because ang sinabi ng anak ko, 'Mama just say it's Bimb'. So I asked myself, paglaki niya kaya ko ba siyang harapin? I'm stating this now categorically. I have to make a sacrifice. They don't deserve this. I felt he doesn't deserve this suffering. I don't want to be selfish for the rest of my life. I have to do what's best for my son. And that means, sacrificing this career. Sacrificing this job. The only way that I can tell my son, when he's an adult na 'Bimb ginawa ko ang lahat para sa 'yo.
Kris also explained, “It's not between James and me and who is telling the truth. It's about how much I love my son. I'm tendering my resignation.”
The TV host also reacted to her ex-husband's move to prohibit her and son Bimby to leave the country.
“Kami ang nabigyan ng Temporary Protection Order, he was the one told to stay away from us. Why is he depriving my son of an oppurtunity to spend a vacation when he himself, hindi naman siya pwedeng lumapit dun sa bata. Bakit ganun na lang siya ka-selfish. Prineprevent niya yung anak ko to be in a place na mabibigyan kami ng katahimikan.”
Meanwhile, Kris’ sisters – Pinky, Ballsy and Viel -- who were with her in the “TV Patrol” interview, agreed that their only brother, President Noynoy Aquino, need not be involved in the issue.
Ballsy who also became emotional during the interview, addressed James Yap and said Kris is not a perfect person but she is doing her best to be a good mom.
“Sobrang motherly nito. Alam mo ginagaya din niya yung ways ng mom, nilalagare sa shooting, show number 1, show number 2, tatakbo sa swimming ni Josh, sa eskwela ni Bimb. Yun talagang nakikita namin yun. Hindi dahil kapatid siya pero nakikita ko how she's doing that for her boys.”
Pinky did not want to bother the President anymore since “this is not a national issue.”
She also feels that the President’s priority should be the country and that they can handle the problem by themselves.
Kris also clarified that the President has never meddled with any of her personal issues.
“Kung kapangyarihan lang ang pag-uusapan natin, why was he (James) able to hurt me so many times? Never nakialaman si Noy. Never kong ginamit ang kapatid ko. Hiyang-hiya na ako sa pamilya ko kasi sa kagustuhan na protektahan ang anak mo, it's not even about me, but about my son. I promised my sisters I would be so strong, but it's so unfair na pwede niya (James) kaming i-abuse. And for what?” With reports from Karen Valeza and Glenda Villena
