MANILA – Comedian-host Vice Ganda praised his good friend Kris Aquino for displaying great courage when she said she is willing to give up her TV shows for the sake of her two sons James “Bimby” Yap Jr. and Joshua.
Aquino announced her resignation from all her ABS-CBN shows on national TV last March 21, saying she must do what’s best for her sons even if it means sacrificing her lucrative career.
In an interview with “The Buzz” aired on Sunday, Vice Ganda noted that it takes courage to make such a big sacrifice.
Sobrang tapang nun bilang isang babae,” he said.
Vice Ganda said he himself was surprised when he learned about his friend’s resignation.
Hindi naman ako nakapunta,” he said.
While he admits to not knowing all the details in Aquino’s spat with former husband James Yap, Vice Ganda said his “Sisterakas” co-star can always count on him.
Aquino and her sons are expected to return to the Philippines on April 5 after a two-week vacation in Europe.
Aquino had said she will fulfill her commitments to ABS-CBN, which includes continuing her duties as a judge on "Pilipinas Got Talent," which begins its live performances on April 6.
