Vice President Jejomar Binay expressed appreciation for Kris’ efforts endorsing the coalition’s local candidates in Makati City even if they are against her brother, President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
“The group of (my son, Makati Mayor) Jun-jun (Binay) is thankful that Kris has been campaigning for their line-up especially his running mate,” the Binay patriarch said.
At the same time, the vice president expressed admiration for the presidential sister when she took a stand for what she believes in.
But Binay refused to further discuss Kris' endorsement of the UNA senatorial slate.
“Kris said we live in a democracy… But I wont answer that because the second question will be about (her) and Jun-jun Binay,” the vice president said.
“Those are just rumors,” he added.
Since her split from her former husband, professional basketball player James Yap, Kris has been linked to politicians like Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero and Binay's son.
The families of Binay and Aquino have a long-standing friendship that dates back to the first EDSA People Power revolution.
