7 Injured in explosion happened in Restaurant at San Juan City Friday August 16, 2013. Although it was not confirmed what causes the explosion but tensions spread around the area.

Police bomb experts arrived at the vicinity of the MaƱosa Restaurant along Wilson Street to gather leads, radio dzBB's Paulo Santos reported.

Interior secretary Manuel Roxas II went to the area to get a briefing from police. He said it is too early to speculate on what caused the explosion.

Metro Manila police head Chief Superintendent Marcelo Garbo Jr. also went to the area to supervise the investigation.

Eastern Police District head Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel said the injured included a three-year-old child, a taxi driver, and a security guard.

An updated dzBB report identified three of the injured as Alvin Takdoro, Allan Cabana, and Julius Ras.

At least 10 vehicles in the area were damaged.

Laurel said they are not discounting the possibility the blast was caused by a liquefied petroleum gas tank.

The explosion caused tension among several residents in the area, which is a residential-commercial district.

Authorities temporarily closed off the street to traffic.  — ELR, GMA News
