Japan - New island raised and emerged after volcanic eruption in south Japan according to coast guard and earthquake experts. Japan Meterogical Agency said that the island measures 200 meters or 660 feet. It is just off the coast of Nishinoshima, a small, uninhabited island in the Ogasawara chain, which is also known as the Bonin Islands.

The approximately 30 islands are 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) south of Tokyo, and along with the rest of Japan are part of the seismically active Pacific "Ring of Fire."

Vocanologists with coastguard said that island may eroded away or it will be there permanently. It is a new island and a new Japan territory.
