Cebu City Charter Day on February 24, 2014 - Special Non-Working Holiday

Cebu City 77th Charter Day this February 24, 2014. Cebu City will proudly celebrates its 2014 charter day. There will be no work and classes as Cebu City declared it as Special Non-working Holiday.

The city, although in existence since 1565 with its foundation by Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, was established as a chartered city on February 24th, 1937, the Philippines’ fifth.  This year, it will be celebrating its 77th Charter Day, where it has been declared a special non-working holiday within the city.   The city government and city-based businesses have organized activities where citizens and tourists alike can participate, ranging from parades, trade fairs, civic activities, competitions, awards, and musical presentations.
