Senator Juan Ponce Enrile named as Sauron Minister in Wikipedia

Senator Juan Ponce Enrile named as Sauron Minister in Wikipedia entry on April 23, 2014. After naming Senator Bam Aquino as one of the ninja turtle, the page of Senator Juan Ponce Enrile has been hacked and named as Sauron Minister.

The 90-year-old senator, one of the longest serving politicians of the country, is known for serving as defense minister under the Marcos regime.

He also became Senate President from 2008 to 2013 and has since been embroiled in the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam.

On Wednesday night, vandals described Enrile as an alleged son of fictional villain Skeletor, and as a defense minister of Sauron in the "Lord of the Rings" saga.

Enrile, according to the vandalized Wikipedia entry, was also a protege of late actor Charlie Chaplin. It also made other satirical descriptions of the veteran lawmakers.

His Wikipedia entry has since been fixed. However, internet users can still access the defaced page via its history link.

Enrile's camp has yet to comment on the incident.

Earlier in the day, vandals also defaced the Wikipedia entry of Aquino, depicting him as one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Wikipedia, a free Internet encyclopedia, is open to revisions by the general public.

The site, however, is constantly policed by editors.
