Fire and multiple explosions hit the armory of the Army Support Headquarters in Fort Bonifacio Wednesday morning, injuring soldiers and firefighters.

DZMM correspondent Dennis Datu said he had just reported on the fire when a huge explosion hit the Army Support Command and a "rain of bullets" and debris started to fall, causing people to scramble to safety.

"Ang bala umulan, napadapa kami lahat. Sobra lakas ng pagsabog, dumilim," he said, adding that he was at least 100 meters away from the armory.

He said many soldiers were running to save other soldiers in the area. Authorities have ordered civilians to evacuate the area.

At least 10 soldiers and firefighters were reportedly injured, according to Datu.

ANC has also shown footage of the explosion that hit the Army Support Headquarters. It also showed several soldiers and firefighters seemingly injured. One soldier can be seen holding a bloody cloth to his face.

Philippine Army spokesman Lt. Col. Noel Detoyato confirmed two of his men were injured in the explosion.

Detoyato said the fire started past 10 a.m. "I was about 20 meters away from the fire when the last explosion occurred. It was a big explosion that caused the wounding of 2 of my cameramen and also some firefighters were around delivering water to the fire," he said.

He said the fire has already been put out but there is still smoke coming from the area.

He warned there is still a possibility of another explosion. "This is why firefighters told everybody to vacate the area. It is still very hot," he said.

An ANC report earlier said Army officials suspect extreme heat may have set off some of the ammunition in the building, causing the fire.
