In Proclamation 655 in
September 2013, President Aquino listed the regular, special non-working and special holidays for 2014.
Among the remaining regular holidays for the year are Nov. 30 (Bonifacio Day), Dec. 25 (Christmas Day) and Dec. 30 (Rizal Day).
Nov. 1 (All Saints’ Day) and Nov. 2 (All Souls’ Day) have been declared special non-working holidays. However, they fell on Saturday and Sunday.
Other remaining special non-working holidays are Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve), Dec. 26 (a Friday) and the last day of the year, Dec. 31 (a Wednesday).
Other declared regular holidays in 2014 were Jan. 1 (New Year), April 9 (Araw ng Kagitingan), April 18 (Good Friday), May 1 (Labor Day), June 12 (Independence Day) and Aug. 25 (National Heroes’ Day).
Declared special non-working holidays were Jan. 31 (Chinese New Year), April 19 (Black Saturday) and Aug. 21 (Ninoy Aquino Day), aside from the annual Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha, which are Islam’s special holidays.
