Swimmer Died in Olango Island in Cebu During Swimming Competition on May 23, 2015

Swimmer Died in Olango Island in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu During Swimming Competition on May 23, 2015.

The fatality was identified as Eduardo Oriondo, a 53-year-old master sergeant in the Philippine Air Force, of Sitio Sangi, Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City.

Oriondo was brought by paramedics to the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital where he was declared dead.



It was the first time a serious accident had taken place in the eight years of the open-water marathon.
