Province of Cebu and Cebu City and its people will have a long weekend as September 9 and 12, 2016 declared as holiday. Sept 12 is not sure since there's no confirmation yet from Palace.

City of Cebu, Province of Cebu with its component cities will likely enjoy a four-day long weekend if Sept 12 (Eid’l Adha) will be declared a holiday.

September 9 (Friday) is declared a non-working holiday in honor of the late President Sergio Osmeña, Sr. according to Republic Act No. 6953.

Filipino Muslims will join the rest of the Islamic world in observing Eid’l Adha or the annual feast of sacrifice during the second week of September.

UAE online news gulfnews.com states that Eid’l Adha is likely to be observed on September 12.

As mandated by Republic Act (RA) 9849, that day is going to be a regular national holiday.

However, President Rodrigo Duterte will issue a proclamation designating the final date for the holiday soon upon the recommendation of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF).
