Typhoon Karen intensifies and gaining strength threatening to hit Eastern Bisayas and Luzon.
Karen has slightly intesinfied as it continues to move in a west northwest direction.
•Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression.
Location of eye/center: At 10:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression "KAREN" was estimated based on all available data at 565 km East of Catarman, Northern Samar(12.7°N, 129.8°E).
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
Forecast Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 11 kph.
