August 22, 2018 is not a holiday for Eidul Adha after President Duterte declared 21 for it a regular holiday on August 15. Contrary to several reports, August 22, Tuesday is a regular WORKING DAY and Aug 21 will celebrate both Eidul Adha and Ninoy Aquino Day.

President Rodrigo Duterte has declared August 21 a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid'l Adha.

The President signed Proclamation No. 556 on Wednesday.

Those who work on regular holidays are paid at least 200 percent of the sum of their daily rate and cost of living allowance.

Eid'l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice is one of the two most significant feasts of Islam, with the other being Eid'l Fitr. Muslims consider Eid'l Adha as one of their revered observances, as the religious holiday marks the end of Hajj--the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, August 21 is also a special non-working holiday to mark the 35th death anniversary of former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr.
