Kapatid actress-turned-host Arci Muñoz said the recent controversy surrounding Willie Revillame and Ethel Booba has not affected their show, TV5’s “Wowowillie.”
“Matagal na tapos yun e. Happy na. Happy naman kami. Actually, kinabukasan, okay na agad,” she said in an interview during retail clothing brand Mango’s fashion show for their 2013 spring/summer collection at the Bonifacio High Street, Taguig Cityon Wednesday, March 13.
Arci added, “Sobrang para kaming pamilya.”
Controversial variety show host Willie became talk of the town early this month when a video of him berating former “Wowowillee” co-host Ethel live on air turned viral.
Perfectionist
How would the former Kapuso star describe Willie? “Ano siya, perfectionist siya. Pinagsasabihan niya kami kapag may mga sablay kami,” she said.
But Arci said she appreciates the “Wowowille” main host’s words of advice to her and her co-hosts, which include Mariel Rodriguez and Grace Lee. Willie is also very hands-on, she added.
“He’d been through a lot. A lot. So this minor problem lang na nagkamali, pagsasabihan niya kami, pero we know naman na it’s for our own good. Tinuturuan niya kami para mapabuti kami,” Arci explained.
“Hindi na naman niya kailangan gawin yun. But still, ginagawa niya para makatulong siya sa maraming tao at sa amin.”
She further explained, “Matulungan niya kami na kung sakaling hindi na kami maging part nung show, may path na kaming mapupuntahan.”
“Marami kaming natututunan kay Kuya.”
Her focus
Arci remains focused on her stint as a “Wowowillee” co-host, although she does miss acting. Before her hosting job, Arci starred in a number of TV5 soap operas, including “Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak,” “Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum,” and “Felina: Ang Prinsesa ng Mga Puso.”
“Pero ito muna, ito ang priority ko sa ngayon,” she said of her “Wowowille” hosting job. “And kung tumagal pa, e di good. Mas okay yun. Sobrang na-enjoy ko talaga.”
She appreciates, too, that her schedule allows her to focus on her other love: music. Arci is part of the rock band Philia.
“Hindi ko yun nakakalimutan,” Arci said of her music.
“At least nahahati ko yung oras ko sa banda ko, sa showbiz. If I can have the best of both worlds, why not? Life is short. I’m just doing what I want, what I love.”
