John Lloyd Cruz emotional in "The Buzz"

MANILA – Actor John Lloyd Cruz on Sunday explained that the reason why he became emotional during his live interview on “The Buzz” last week.

In a new interview with host Boy Abunda, Cruz said he was just overwhelmed that his movie series with singer-actress Sarah Geronimo is now coming to an end.

Cruz and Geronimo just finished shooting their third movie together "It Takes a Man and a Woman" two weeks ago.

“Last week I was here, I got a little bit emotional kasi kakatapos lang namin nun. Ang hirap lang kasi bumitaw kasi ito 'yung characters na nag-exist sa mundo namin, sa mundo ko for the past several years,” he told Abunda.

Cruz also clarified that he will not be leaving show business any time soon.

“It’s just not easy saying goodbye [sa movie namin ni Sarah]. Hindi po ako aalis ng showbiz, wala pong matatapos. I just wanted to explain kung bakit ako naging emotional,” he said.

Meanwhile, Cruz and Geronimo expressed confidence about the final installment of their big-screen partnership which began with “A Very Special Love” in 2008.

“On a very personal level, when you do a movie, trabaho iyan eh. After the movie, you have to promote. Ito kasi hindi eh. You look forward to promoting, to showing at kung paano tatanggapin ng tao. Medyo confident, medyo may eksaktong amount of confidence kasi we have a good movie to offer,” Cruz said.

As for Geronimo, she said: “Sa lahat nang nagmamahal kila Miggy at Laida, kayo po ang dahilan kung bakit nagpatuloy ang kanilang love story. Kaya maraming maraming salmaat po, ito po ay regalo namin para sa inyo.”

“It Takes a Man and a Woman” is set to open in theaters nationwide on March 30.
