MANILA, Philippines - Korean boyband sensation 2PM is now in town for its first Philippine concert to be held Saturday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.
"Since it's out first concert here in the Philippines, we will try to show our best," Wooyoung said excitedly in Korean during a press briefing in Manila on Friday.
Jun K tried to keep it vague, quipping in Korean: "We have prepared something special (for our fans)."
The two were accompanied by other 2PM members, Nichkhun, Taecyeon and Junho. The sixth member Chansung was still in Seoul filming the drama "7th Grade Civil Servant."
But Thai member Nickhun smiled and assured that Chansung will be present at concert on Saturday.
Taecyeon, the tallest among the group, thanked his fans who waited for the group at the airport and welcomed them with makeshift banners and wide smiles.
"The view is great. When we got off the airplane, we're very grateful for the fans there. It will be great to see all of you tomorrow," Taecyeon said with a big smile.
2PM, probably known for their rock-hard abs and upbeat music, debuted in 2008 with the single "10 Out of 10."
Most recently, the group celebrated the success of its Japanese album, "Legend of 2PM," which topped Japan's Oricon chart.
Nichkhun attributed the group's strength to the members' teamwork.
"Our friendship, our team work, and honesty--we're very honest about our feelings," Nichkhun said when asked what keeps the group together.
He added with a charming smile, "We love each other!"
In the coming months, "Hottest" or 2PM fans can expect to see more of the group as they will be releasing a new album soon.
"We have an upcoming Korean album... it will be very great," Taecyeon said.
Aside from being back in the music scene, Taecyeon said fans might see the members in television shows or modelling contracts.
"We are always trying to challenge ourselves. It could acting, modelling and radio," Taecyeon said.
"Expect great things!" Taecyeon said with a hearty laugh.
2PM's Philippine concert is part of its "What Time Is It" Asian tour. The group will be heading to Guangzhou, China and in Bangkok, Thailand next.
2PM members charmed the press with a few Tagalog phrases. Jun K said "Mahal ko Filipinos," while Wooyoung said "Mahal kita, salamat po."
