Lead stars of "It Takes A Man And A Woman" John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo |
MANILA – The romantic-comedy movie of Star Cinema and Viva Films starring John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo has doubled its figures during the second day of its release in theaters nationwide.
According to Star Cinema’s Roxy Liquigan and Mico del Rosario, "It Takes A Man and a Woman" already hit the P65-million mark as of Sunday.
This was P32.4 million more than its first-day gross on Black Saturday, which was recorded at P32.6 million.
In the Cathy Garcia-Molina-directed film, Miggy (Cruz) and Laida (Geronimo) try co-exist in the same company after breaking up over a character portrayed by actress Isabelle Daza.
Now with more experience and a "fiercer" attitude after spending years in the United States, the returning Laida even challenges Miggy, her former employer, in his business decisions.
The set-up later proves challenging for the former couple to withstand, making it difficult for them to finally come up with a "happy ending."
With the first two movies among the highest grossing local films of all time, "It Takes a Man and a Woman" is expected to replicate the success of "A Very Special Love" and "You Changed My Life."
"A Very Special Love," released in 2008, made P179.3 million, while "You Changed My Life," released in 2009, earned P225.2 million during its theatrical run.
