Manila- Typhoon Santi intensifies in Luzon, October 12, 2013 Saturday Suspension of Classes announced. The following local government units and institutions have announced suspension of classes for Saturday, October 12, due to the bad weather:

Cainta, Rizal (all levels, public and private)
Navotas (all levels)
Malabon (all levels)
Mandaluyong City (all levels)
Marikina (all levels, public and private)
Antipolo City (all levels)
Pasay City (all levels)
Muntinlupa (pre-school to high school, public and private)
Quezon City (all levels)
San Fernando City, Pampanga (pre-school to high school)
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela
Valenzuela Polytechnic College
Arellano University (all levels, as well as work)
Metro Manila was placed under storm signal warning number 2 as Typhoon Santi made landfall and moved across Luzon.

Under signal number two, classes at pre-school, elementary, and secondary levels are automatically suspended.

Also under signal number 2 are the following areas:

Isabela
Mt. Province
Ilocos Sur
La Union
Benguet
Ifugao
Bataan
Metro Manila
Rizal
Northern Quezon
Polillo Group of Islands
Cavite
Laguna
Areas under signal number 3, which automatically cancels classes at the pre-school, elementary, and secondary and tertiary levels, including graduate schools, are the following:

Aurora
Quirino
Nueva Vizcaya
Zambales
Pangasinan
Tarlac
Nueva Ecija
Pampanga
Bulacan
Areas where classes at the pre-school level are suspended because of signal number 1 are:

Cagayan
Apayao
Ilocos Norte
Abra
Kalinga
Camarines Norte
Camarines Sur
Rest of Quezon
Marinduque
Lubang Island
Northern Mindoro
Batangas
Manila, meanwhile, suspended classes in all levels in public and private schools on Monday, October 14 in relation to an Iglesia ni Kristo event that will be attended by more than 1 million delegates and members.
