One Direction members have confirmed reports that the group is planning to take a hiatus, but stress they are not splitting up.
Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne all took to Twitter to clear the air. "Ok so Lots of rumours going round," wrote Horan. "We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year."
"Your support is truly indescribable! It's just a break," wrote Tomlinson wrote alongside a smiley face emoticon. "We're not going anywhere!!"
Payne seemed relieved to have the news out there, and thanked fans for their continued support: "So glad everything has been cleared up today and ur support with it is amazing not that we could ever expect anything less your amazing." He also promised "so much more to come."
Reports earlier this week stated that the group had decided to take a break for at least a year to pursue solo projects. The pop quartet is still fresh from losing its fifth member, Zayn Malik, who left the group this spring.
One Direction members Payne, Horan, Tomlinson and Harry Styles are currently on tour through Sept. 3.
