China and India deploy more troops to the disputed region after Indian soldiers found and dismantled a watchtower constructed by Chinese engineers 1.5 km inside the Line of
Actual Control in Ladakh on Sept 11.
After the tower was removed by the Indian troops, the Chinese side started building up their troop presence which was instantly matched by the Indian Army. Both sides so far are sticking to their own positions, without crossing into each others’ line.
A meeting between the Chinese and Indian commanders will be held today to try to diffuse the tense situation.
