MANILA, Philippines -- Young actress Kathryn Bernardo turns 17 today, March 26.
Born Kathryn Chandria Manuel Bernardo, the teen star is best known for her role as Mara in defunct hit soap "Mara Clara" with Julia Montes as Clara.
The Star Magic talent joined showbiz in 2003 when she appeared in the movie "It Might Be You." The following year, she appeared in the fantaserye "Krystala" with Judy Ann Santos.
From 2005 to 2010, Bernardo was cast in the children's gag show "Goin' Bulilit." She also appeared with Makisig Morales in the series "Super Inggo."
But her biggest break came in 2010 when she was cast in "Mara Clara." She followed this up with the teen show "Growing Up" where she was first paired with Daniel Padilla.
Her love team with Padilla reached phenomenal heights when they did the hit series "Princess and I," which ended its run last February.
Her film "Must Be...Love" with Padilla is still showing on theaters nationwide.
